Jan Crha has devoted himself to dance since the age of 15. He began in Pardubice, where he studied at the economics high school. At the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague he studied choreography with professor P. Šmok. In the 1990s he achieved considerable successes in the Czech Republic Disco Dance Formation Championship, established the professional dance troupe Q and danced in the musicals Mise and Dracula. He creates choreography for distinguished personalities in pop music (Bára Basiková, Karel Gott, Sisa Sklovská, Eva Pilarová etc.), for TV shows (on Nova, Czech Television or Prima), co-operates in company presentation and prepares TV spots. In 1999 he launched the Status Q project with the dance troupe Q, in 2002 he directed the evening-long ballet Higher Principle. In the J.K. Tyl Theatre he created the choreography for the musicals Kiss me Kate, Jeptišky, Šakalí léta, Crazy for you, Kristián 2 and the operetta Countess Marica.
