Miloslav Janíček studied conducting and composition at the Janáček Academy of Musical Arts in Brno. He has also attended conducting courses in Sienna in Italy and took part in international conducting competitions in Besancon, Budapest and at the Prague Spring music festival. From 1989 to 1992 he worked as the head conductor of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra in Mariánské Lázně. He has also conducted Czech and foreign symphony orchestras, for example in Paris, Sabadell, Barcelona, Düsseldorf, Zweibrücken, Bad-Homburg, Weiden, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca , Weimar……….. He has several recordings and guests in Czech and foreign orchestras. In recent years he has co-operated via his agency and label ORFEUS with several artists and orchestral ensembles, and shares actively in releasing in-demand titles of Czech and international production. In 1991 he established the Orfeus agency and label and since 1995 he has been the exclusive leaseholder of Křižík's fountain. He has composed the music for several originally stage projects: for Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale The Little Mermaid, for the musicals Notre Dame de Paris and Atlantis, and the ballet production of Tristan and Isolde shall premiere in the 2010 season, with music by Miloslav Janíček. As the producer and main dramaturgist of Křižík's fountain he is also the author of the choreographies of lights and water of Křižik's fountain.
