The Magic of Tonight (Walsh,Watson,Three Graces,Il Divo)
The Magic of Tonight
These songs, which will penetrate to the depths of your heart, marry new versions of the greatest hits of the past, as well as new compositions of recent songs. The set opens with Kimberley Walsh, English singer-songwriter, model, television presenter and actor. She rose to fame at the end of 2002, when she took part in the TV reality show ‘Popstars: the Rivals’ competition on ITV. She also became a member of girls’ band, ‘Girls Aloud’. This group achieved enormous success – all six of their studio albums have been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry and the group has achieved five nominations for the main prize in the traditional ¬BRIT Awards. Another singer whose tender ballads will be heard in combination with the Křižík’s Fountain water and light show is Russell Watson, an English tenor whose albums combine opera and pop. He came to attention in 1999 when he sang ‘God Bless the Queen’ at the final of the Rugby League Challenge Cup at Wembley Stadium. His debut album, entitled ‘The Voice’, came out in May 2001 and was followed by another four. Although he is often criticised for not having a professional technique, he has described himself as a ‘folk artist’ and has gained a growing number of fans. This is followed by a trio of enchanting artists, members of the crossover vocal trio, Three Graces. Singers Sara Gettelfinger, Joy Kabanuck and Kelly Levesque were discovered as a trio in 2006 when they had already had some success, but they have achieved true triumph in recent years. This set is complemented by Italian opera tenor, Alessandro Safina, who amongst other successes has had his voice used for the award-winning soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s film, ‘Moulin Rouge’, and has also appeared in the programme, ‘Elton John’s Songs’ with Ewan McGregor. And the tenors in the group, ‘Il Divo’, also have their compositions in this production, a group who already have their own successful production at Křižík’s Fountain, and in this performance we use pieces such as the well-known musical song ‘Memory’. This production allows the magical combination of elements at Křižík’s Fountain to come to the full, and there is no better way to enjoy true romance under the summer stars than to choose this performance.
